OBJECT PERMANENCE IN BABIES
0-1 Month Tracks objects in the visual field.
1-4 Months It follows when the object is moved in the visual field, but does not search when the object is hidden.
4-8 Months Follows a dropped toy or object hidden under the covers, but does not search when the object is hidden.
8-12 Months Hide remembers where the object is hidden.
12-18 Months He begins to learn that he should look for the toy in the place he last saw it.
18 Months - 2 Years He has fully acquired object permanence. He searches for the object even if it is hidden in more than one place.
2-7 YEARS OLD PRE-PROCEDURE PERIOD
